Adams County Library System Partners with Poet Laureate for Unique Virtual Poetry Journey

Anythink Libraries, a celebrated library system in Adams County, is set to unveil an exciting collaboration with local Poet Laureate Kerrie Joy. This partnership introduces a pioneering immersive poetry experience within the library’s virtual platform, Anythink World. The initiative aims to foster creativity and accessibility, inviting library cardholders to engage with Joy’s artistic journey. The launch event is scheduled for July 15 at Anythink Wright Farms, featuring both in-person and online participation.

The immersive experience, titled Unwritten, transports visitors to a digital replica of Brighton’s Main Street. As users navigate this virtual landscape, they will encounter significant locations that symbolize various phases of Joy’s life and artistic evolution.

Inspired by the actual streets of Brighton, this digital environment serves as the imaginative space for Kerrie Joy. It offers an interactive exploration of her creative process, combining moments of introspection with engaging prompts that encourage users to craft their own poetry.

Joy expressed her vision for the experience: “Unwritten allows participants to step into my mind and experience my creative journey. It’s an opportunity for reflection and transformation, empowering visitors to express their own truths through poetry.”

Built using advanced technology similar to that found in popular video games like Fortnite and Skyrim, Anythink World is accessible on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. It also includes features such as live translation, closed captioning, customizable avatars, and virtual meeting options.
